You Modified Your Special Edition, Limited Production Car??

The Ford Mustang is one of the most personalized vehicles, starting with the first model year.  Even the 1968 Mustang GT fastback in "Bullitt" was changed from its stock configuration, which is actually how the design theme came to be for the 2001 model and the ones that followed. That theme is most simply "understated."

Bullitt owners have modified their cars from the start as well to customize both style and performance to individual preferences. Some of us wonder why one might take this step after we've paid money for a limited run car that has already been customized! Having gone through this exercise myself on many of my prior Mustangs, I've come to appreciate those who seek to express a vision that builds on the strengths without detracting from it. Listening to owner stories about their vision and what drives them enhances my appreciation for the creativity and possibilities to make my "one of one" Bullitt Mustang.

James Reedy of Monroe, OH, impressed me with the continuation of the Bullitt understated design theme on his 2001 dark highland green car. He is the second owner, and he finessed what was a tired example into the beauty seen here. Can you spot the subtle exterior changes that distinguish his car from the stock appearance? If you have trouble doing that, James would smile, because that's what he sought to do with his personalization efforts. James is skilled in body and paint work, having worked on SEMA cars in the past. We all have our visions of beauty, and I say that "low key" is one that seems only natural for any Bullitt Mustang generation.
